Dr. Raman is working as a Professor in the Dept. of Plant Breeding at Cornell University, New York and has been Executive Director of the Cornell-Eastern Europe-Mexico (CEEM) International Collaborative Project in Potato Late Blight Control since its inception in August 1996. He serves as the coordinator for the Biotechnology and AgriBusiness Initiative for India.
He has been working on developing and implementing potato and sweet potato integrated pest management programs in developing countries. He has also worked as the Ameri Center Director for International Service for Acquisition of Agri Biotech Applications (ISAAA) on the safe transfer of proprietary applications in plant biotechnology available in the North to developing countries in the South. He has also participated in several international missions organized by the World Bank, Inter American Bank, Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) to assist in the area of integrated pest management, plant breeding, agribusiness and biotechnology.
