Dr. Verma is credited with identification of areas for potato seed production in Himachal Pradesh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and North Bihar on the basis of aphid surveys. He evolved package of practices for different potato growing zones of the country for the management of insect pests of potato. He had also developed mathematical model for prediction of first appearance of Myzus persicae for Western Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Verma has published over 100 research papers.
