Dr. Chandla has more than 37 years of research experience of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Being an entomologist, he has done aphid surveys of potato growing regions of India to identify areas suitable for quality seed potato production That culminated in identification of areas that are presently growing successful seed crop. He has developed IPM schedules for potato tuber moth, aphid vectors and white grubs. He is actively working for boosting potato production in North-eastern states. Dr. Chandla was honoured with ICAR Team Research Award (1999-2000) for his contribution in dissemination of potato technologies. He has published more than 100 research papers, popular articles, book chapters and has authored 10 technical bulletins.
